CIAM · Model Context Protocol

Give your AI agent a vendor-neutral CIAM brain.

Why connect to this instead of just asking a model

Sourced, not guessed

Every answer comes from an editorially reviewed record with a citation URL, not a model's memory of CIAM vendors that may be stale, wrong, or invented.

Neutral by design

The matcher's ranking never changes for a sponsor or a Charter Partner. Paid placement buys visibility, never a better verdict.

Structured, not scraped

Typed tools return the same shape every time (a vendor profile, a capability score, a compliance framework) instead of an agent guessing at a web page's layout.

Always current

The index rebuilds from the same content that ships to ciam.wiki, ciam.blog, and ciam.works, so an agent never cites a page that's since changed underneath it.

How to connect

Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude Code)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors (claude.ai or Desktop) or run claude mcp add (Claude Code).
  2. Choose Add custom connector and paste the endpoint above.
  3. Ask it something like "which CIAM vendors support passkeys and SCIM" and watch it cite the directory.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings → Connectors (or add it as an action in a Custom GPT).
  2. Add the endpoint above as a remote MCP server.
  3. ChatGPT talks to it through the two universal tools every MCP-aware client understands: search and fetch.

Any other MCP client

Most desktop clients read a JSON config with a remote server entry. The shape is generally:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ciam": {
      "url": "https://mcp.ciam.works/mcp"
    }
  }
}
